Material Advice:
-AP* Human Geography: A Study Guide 3rd Edition - Ethel Wood
-5 Steps to a 5 AP* Human Geography - Carol Ann Gillespie
General Advice:
While the content of the class isn't inherently difficult, the class is a bit fast-paced and homework-heavy, so it may seem stressful at the beginning. If you are someone who has a hard time keeping up with assignments, quizzes, and projects, I suggest making a habit of writing deadlines down into a planner or calendar. Taking good notes is essential in this class, so make sure you stay focused during slide lessons and do your best to record all necessary information in class. The class is very memorization-heavy, so whether it's vocabulary terms or models, make sure you spend adequate time before quizzes or tests to review these things. The tests can be especially difficult, so I suggest to prepare you should read AP* Human Geography: A Study Guide 3rd Edition. It's a book that has summaries for every chapter as well as short tests within each chapter, and more often than not, many of the test questions come from this book. When preparing for the AP exam, I suggest reading 5 Steps to a 5 AP* Human Geography. The book does a good job as a supplement to your notes in class in terms of summing up the content, and has plenty of practice multiple choice and writing material to help you prepare for the AP exam. Good Luck!
