Year Taken: 2018-2019
Material Advice:
-WordReference
-A little more general but I would suggest seeking out French content in terms of media, literature, or radio
General Advice:
In general, advanced French is very similar to AP French. It's a good class to help you prepare for the workload you will have to deal with when it comes to AP French and is a great way to build a better foundation of your knowledge of the French language before your last year in the course. In general, the class is pretty slow-paced, so use your class time wisely to finish assignments and projects so you won't need to spend time at home. Most projects and assignments in the class aren't too difficult, but if you get stuck WordReference is a great tool to search up certain words and their meaning. If you ever want to practice outside of class, I would highly suggest French media, such as movies, TV shows, or literature. I found it very helpful to watch shows I'm familiar with French dubbing or subtitles, as it helped me to start being able to build up my comprehension when I hear or see French in a faster and more casual setting. Overall, take advantage of this year to build up your fluency in French, and it should benefit you next year in AP French. Good Luck!
