Pre-AP Class Taken: Pre-AP Algebra II
Year Taken: 2019-2020
Material Advice: Holt Algebra 2 Texas Edition (textbook), Organic Chemistry Tutor, Khan Academy
General Advice:
- Do the homework and don't cheat! The homework assigned to you may seem like busy work, and it might seem like too much, but doing this work will prepare you for the quizzes and test. You get a lot of practice in this way and you'll feel better about your abilities through the homework.
- Go to tutorials. A lot of times, you may do better in tutorials one-on-one with the teacher than learning with the class. This way, you are given the opportunity to ask more questions or speak up about your difficulties without feeling embarrassed:) Most of the teachers are very flexible, so you can o during flex, afterschool, or before school.
-Use the textbook. There will be material that in covered in class, but you may still be confused. If so, the textbook usually goes in-depth. It also offers several examples and helps you better understand concepts better! Definitely look at the textbook before going to the tutorials; this may help you before you need the teacher's help:)
-Manage your time wisely! Don't slack or disregard your work in this class! You will fall behind really quickly if you do so, as this is a very fast paced class (you learn a new concept at least every 2 weeks). Make sure you make time to do the assignments, even if it's only 30 minutes or during a break you have. Everything counts!
