Material Advice: -Spark notes (great for helping you figure out the main idea and refreshing your memory about main points/events in the book) General Advice: Please keep up with the readings your teacher assigns in class. Don’t push everything off til the day before of the test, timed writing, or quiz. It’s stressful and you don’t remember as much as you would if you were to read a little bit every day prior to the due date. For the timed writings make sure you thoroughly understand the book you read. Try to memorize specific details/events/quotes from the book to use as this will better your score on the essay. For Socratic seminars make sure you prep well. This includes writing good annotations in your book as you read. Use spark notes as extra help but don’t copy everything it says on there as rest assured the rest of your classmates will be using sparks notes as well so you don’t want to have the same points as everyone else. If you don’t have any unique points and don’t contribute much your teacher will take off points.
