Class: Pre-AP English II
Year Taken: 2019-20
Material Advice: Get a physical copy of the book so you can annotate, notecards
General Advice:
- Keep up with the reading, don't put it off until the last minute. If you put the reading off until the lunch period before class, you aren't going to remember the book as much as you would like, this will hurt you on the pop quizzes.
- Start studying the vocabulary the day you get the vocabulary, don't put it off until the night before. The vocab quizzes are easy ways to boost your grades if you do well on them. Doing well on them isn't hard if you study. Make a quizlet of the words, but also make paper flashcards. Practice spelling the words, so that you remember them better. Memorize the given definition word for word.
- If you do poorly on a Timed Writing (or any writing), go in for tutorials. Your teacher will explain specific ways to improve your writing, this will help you in both English II, but also in all future English classes you take.
